About SECURITY OF PAYMENT Services

SECURITY OF PAYMENT Services helps builders, subcontractors, suppliers and consultants get paid for construction work using the Security of Payment Act. We are based in NSW and work with clients across Australia, under the security of payment laws in every state and territory.

Our founder

RECOUP’s founding director, Glenn Bower, has worked in the building and construction industry his whole working life. He started as a cabinetmaker and, soon after completing his apprenticeship, set up a high-class detail joinery business that eventually grew into a large commercial construction company.

For the past 26 years, Glenn and his team have recovered money for construction work using security of payment legislation. The RECOUP team has a deep understanding of how the industry works, and how best to use the security of payment laws in every conceivable scenario to recover the money you are owed for construction work.

Tips to help you get paid

  • Read the contract carefully before you sign it.
  • Keep simple, consistent contract administration.
  • Use a site diary, and photograph your work every day.
  • Prepare proper payment claims, and claim variations as you go.
  • Fix defective work as you go.
  • Don’t be too patient. When payment is due, ask where it is.
  • If a promised payment doesn’t arrive, don’t hesitate to use your rights under the Act.
