Security Of Payments Act NT Online Claim Form

NT: before you submit

  • You need a construction contract (written, oral or a mix) for work on a site in the Northern Territory, entered into on or after 1 July 2005.
  • You can claim as your contract allows or, if it says nothing, any time after you’ve carried out some of the work.
  • If the contract says nothing, the respondent has 10 working days to give a notice of dispute, or must pay in full within 20 working days. Payment terms longer than 30 working days after the claim are read down.
  • There is no payment schedule or notice step. Your right to adjudicate starts when a payment dispute arises: your claim is rejected or disputed, isn’t paid in full by the due date, or retention money isn’t returned on time.
  • You must apply for adjudication within 65 working days after the payment dispute arises.
